Anyone who knows me understands that I have a serious passion for denim jeans. I think that it is the perfect marriage of brilliant colour (my favourite is the classic dark denim or an indigo off-shoot) and practical, comfortable fabric that will go with anything. It dresses something down but still keeps it up-to-date, and the latest stretch denim fabrics are I thought I would only dream about. In fact, I am so close to finally getting the perfect jeans that I have given up on my quest and would like to leave something in my will to True Religion for actually cutting stretch skinny jeans for exactly my body shape (ie for women with curvy hips). And I have to put in a special note to G Star Raw as they totally and unexpectedly tempted me into buying a pair due to the innovative cut, great design, wonderful soft butter-like denim, and reasonable price.
If you are interested, this is a good site that has a relatively comprehensive list of the top brands: www.denimsandjeans.com/denim-brands
However, since I am finally happy with my jeans, I have now moved on to how I can work denim into other looks. Here are two of my recent favourite looks. The first is Alexa Chung who manages to look effortless in a denim dress.
The second is Alessandra Codin whom I do not know but think she looks great. The denim jacket, whilst bringing back a few too many bad 80′s memories, looks quite sweet and stops this look from being too vampy (ie very short red dress).

Good use of denim here – to dress down the outfit and slightly subdue what could be an overwhelming dress (and love the accessories)
Tomorrow, denim skirts.
